How to alter the old style Al-ko compensator to accept the new bowden cables

OLD
Al-ko compensator Early Al-ko compensator for bowden cables with threaded end.
Cables no longer available from Al-ko.

NEW
Al-ko compensator Current compensator with slots to allow fitting of new Al-ko cables with 'mushroom' type end.

The modification the old type compensator requires to accept the latest 'mushroom' type cables.
Alternatively a new compensator can be purchased here
A slot of about 4mm wide needs to be cut to allow the cable to pass through. A slot of about 4mm wide needs to be cut to allow the cable to pass through.
